Does anyone know when Write-N-Cite will be compatible with Microsoft Word 2013? We have many users on our campus who have upgraded to MS Word 2013 and are unable to use WNC as a result.

We have a version of WNC 4 that is compatible with the locally installed client versions of 2013 in QA. We will know more on a release date as soon as the team gets through the testing. Once passed, we will announce via this community as well as on the list. We have decided to break up the development on the hybrid and cloud versions of 2013. Very interested in knowing how our sites are installing 2013?

Is there an estimated time on the Word 2013/WNC 4 compatibility update? We are getting ready to make our University workstation image for this year and it would be nice to know if we should leave WNC4 off.

Hi Christine,

Is there a work around for people already using Office 2013?, we have some very anxious students who've gone out and bought themselves the latest software and are now panicking because they can't download WNC 4.  I would be grateful for any advice you have on this.

I too am anxious to learn if a release date has been scheduled for MS Word 2013 support. The latest word on development was back in April. How close are we to receiving an update. I have received a number of complaints from librarians and students about WNC since then.

Hi Randy,

We have a pre-release in testing right now. Please send an email to if you are interested in taking a look at it. Otherwise, we will be posting it to our production servers next week.

Thank you for your patience in this matter.

What is the latest on Word 2013 and WNC 4 or 4.2?  Do they work _well_ together?  haven't seen recent info on this.  Thanks,

Rena Sheffer

Was there a response to this ?  I just asked our systems folks to include WNC on the Word 2013 that we now have installed.  Can you tell me the status ???

We are running word 2013 with the older pre flow version of WNC 4 and it works ok here

Hannah & others,

is there a place to get the older WNC 4, pre-ProQuest Word?   My patron is on Office 2013 (a recent upgrade from our IT people).  She claims she has talked to RW support.  I hate to send her back to WNC III.  She has a Mac at home and WNC 4 is fine there.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Yes, you can choose from the download screen in refworks tools - click on other versions - you can also set as an administrator in RefWorks which version appears first for students to download - we are on Write-N-Cite 4 for 32 bit Word53.27 Mb Version: 4.2.1141 (2013-08-29) which seems to work fine

Sorry to be dense but I do not see your WnC4Install32-4.2.1141.exe under other versions.

I can call RW help again.

Hi all. Where I work, I see this:

Write-N-Cite 4 for 32 bit Word50.1 Mb
Version: 4.4.1272 (2014-09-09)Help
For Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8
Supports Word 2007, Word 2010 and Word 2013

I apologize for not reading something right in front of me. But is it true that this WNC 4 cannot be installed on multiple computers over a network. I also apologize if I am asking a question that does not make sense. I will be discussing with our systems folks, etc. but I thought I would ask here too..
