I have a user whose Write n Cite 4 login suddenly will not work. It worked OK on Thursday but on Friday asked for the login code which he retrieved from the tools bar in RefWorks but it just doesn't allow him to login. There is no error message - it just doesn't login. The University has not done any updates to Word 2010 or anything else in the past week, so I don't think it can be that. He has tried uninstalling and installing, but that doesn't work.

Any ideas?

Hello Frank,

would you send me the PDF too?

Thank you very much

Julia Spenke,

Hello Frank:

I am sorry to tell you that I've followed your PDF instructions, and they don't work (Windows 7, Java 8.31).

At the file location,  I can't see the support file "pq.db.", though  I can see "pq.log.0" and "pq.log.0.lck" ... up to "pq.log.100" and "pq.log.100.lck." and "pq.properties".

Also, I can see the following supported files: "wnc", "wnc.log.0", "wnc.log.0.1", "wnc.log.0.1.lck", "wnc.log.0.lck", "wnc.properties" (not pointed out in your PDF).

On the other hand, a colleague of mine, who is still using Java 7 (windows 7), doesn't have any trouble when connecting WNC and Word, in spite of lacking "wnc" files ("pq.log" files are exactly as mine)

Thank you again for your help.
