At our institution we have a customised version of Harvard citation style, where document titles are produced in sentence case. However, this is causing a problem in that proper nouns such as country names are also given a lower case letter when the bibliography is formatted, e.g. Japan becomes japan. Is there any way of adding 'stop' or exclusion words so we can stop this from happening?
Thank you Janine for sharing in your experience with RefWorks. Currently, we do not have a configurable stop list of proper nouns; however, we have made a request to our product team about adding this option
In the meantime, we suggest that you not case the title fields when defining the output style. Also, we encourage users to check each field when importing -- you can do this by going to the “Last Imported Folder” view and setting the reference list to “Full View”. This helps users quickly confirm and edit any missing or incorrect data. Let us know if you have any more questions.
